Congratulations to Benjamin Kessel for his Young Investigator Award in recognition of outstanding achievements in the field of Bioink Development.  This award was presented at the recent meeting of the International Society for Biofabrication in Würzburg. 

Congratulations to Mischa Müller on the Editor’s Choice Award of the Annals for Biomedical Engineering.  This award was in recognition of the paper “Alginate Sulfate–Nanocellulose Bioinks for Cartilage Bioprinting Applications” and was announced at the recent  BMES Meeting in Atlanta

Our publication makes the cover of this month's Advanced Functional Materials journal

The publication titled "Ultrasoft Alginate Hydrogels Support Long-Term Three-Dimensional Functional Neuronal Networks" by G. Palazzolo et al has made it to the cover of this month's Tissue Engineering Part A. It shows Rat embryonic cortical neurons that extend neurites in three-dimensional alginate hydrogels.

The Institute for Biomechanics welcomes Prof. Marcy Zenobi-Wong and her research group, who have joined the IfB on July 1, 2014. 

Florian Formica and Nicolas Broguiere won prizes for their images at the Materials and Processes Graduate Symposium.

The eagerly awaited inaugural lecture of Prof. Marcy Zenobi-Wong took place on the 17.12.2012.

The CERL group was represented at the Scientifica 2012 "Getting healthy and staying healthy".

The CERL visited Phonak, where our PhD student Martin Kirchberger, is conducting his research. It was an interesting day that was rounded up with a musical performance by Martin.

On May 4th, the CERL, representatives of the AO Foundation and EMPA met in Zürich to discuss cartilage engineering and present current work in their respective laboratories.
